About Walea Kodi reefs

Walea Kodi is an island of about 42 km² in the eastern Togeans, part of the national park. Its reef starts at the beach in less than 3 m of water, and there are natural shallow lagoons.

The Walea pygmy seahorse, endemic to the Togeans and listed as Critically Endangered, is found around Walea Kodi. At night, bioluminescent plankton lights up the water in certain bays.
